Limbo is fun – unless you’re in an excavator and trying to install deep foundations with a 16′ ceiling above you.
The Pennant, in Fells Point on Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, is a residential development that is currently under construction. The project includes new construction as well as the renovation of existing structures. The 2-story Wolfe Street warehouse is being converted into a parking structure and will have three stories of residential space added above.
The column loads for the building have to be increased to support the added weight of three additional floors. This is where the challenge of limited overhead access came into play. Luckily for the developers, this is one of the many instances where STELCOR Drilled-In Displacement Micropiles are a perfect option.
