IDEAL has an immediate opening for a Geo-Structural Engineer at our Rochester NY office. The qualified candidate must have a strong background in Foundation Engineering and Deep Foundation Engineering, including experience in the Geotechnical and Structural design of Micropiles, Hollow Bar, Helical Piles, Displacement Piles, ACIP, CFA, Driven Piles, Drilled Piles, SOE, and Ground Improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design Deep Foundation support for load-bearing structures or structural elements, such as buildings, bridges, etc. through analysis of specialized deep foundation elements, project requirements, and in-situ soil conditions;
• Design Foundations and pile caps to interact with deep foundation elements;
• Provide Stamped foundation drawings and final pile design submittals in accordance with project requirements;
• Research and analyze various solutions in the design-build process to provide the most economical design;
• Develop blueprints or specifications for use during construction and ensure all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations;
• Work with the estimating, sales, and manufacturing teams to increase value through design;
• Recommend process improvements.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years of experience in the foundation/deep foundation/construction industry;
• Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain PE, in NY & NJ;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering;
• Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering;
• Master’s Degree (Or strong background) in Structural Engineering;
• Proficient in ASD and LRFD;
• Able to provide sales support and interact with clients (sales engineer);
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and strong presentation skills;
• High level of integrity and team-oriented;
• Able to perform (independently and in a team setting) under pressure and with challenging deadlines;
• Attentive, focused, innovative, mature, and responsible, with a problem solving and definitive spirit;
• A strong background in Foundation Engineering and Deep Foundation Engineering, including experience in the Geotechnical and Structural design of Micropiles, Hollow Bar, Helical Piles, Displacement Piles, ACIP, CFA, Driven Piles, Drilled Piles, SOE, and Ground Improvement;
• A strong background using various geotechnical computer software such ALL-PILE, LPILE, DeepFND, HelixPile;
• Advanced computer program skills specifically with various CAD programs, Salesforce.com, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheet, and various online meeting platforms.
